Overview:
A kind and caring family with three daughters ranging age 12-15 in Chestnut Hill seeks a personable, active and responsible part-time live-in nanny/babysitter to join their household.
As part of the compensation, the candidate will have a private, well appointed 750 sq ft apartment attached to our home in Chestnut Hill (likely value at $3,000/month+). The apartment is complete with furniture, a full kitchen, in-unit laundry, wifi, a parking space, and all utilities are included. The home is located off Heath Street in Chestnut Hill and is walking distance to The Street, the Riverside T stop on the D line, the Brookline Reservoir, and many other Brookline/Chestnut Hill amenities.
This is an ideal role for a B.C. graduate student who values a calm, safe, respectful environment, has a flexible schedule in the afternoon and evenings, and has a significant amount of driving experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prep appropriate snacks, gear/water bottles, etc. for after school activities
• Pick up and drive teens from school to afternoon activities such as sports practices, games, social plans, errands, etc. and back home usually from (~3:30pm – 8pm)
• Babysit girls in the evenings and weekends on occasional nights where parents may be out late (avg. 1x/week)
• Occasionally assist with other household needs like running local errands, dog care/walks, car service, etc.
• Occasional 24 hour coverage/babysitting of the kids when we travel (additional hourly pay will apply)
• Majority of hours will fall generally, Monday – Friday between 3:30pm – 7:30pm; occasional later evening or weekend hours. Exact schedules will be provided month to month but will always have general consistent weekday hours.
• Summers off (unpaid)
The Ideal Candidate:
• Warm, kind, and highly dependable
• Exercises good judgement with safety and caring for teenage girls; supports parents’rules and boundaries for them
• Appreciates a mutually respectful living arrangement that emphasizes privacy and safety
• Experienced driver with valid driver’s license and clean driving record; car a plus, but not required
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain)
• No smoking or drug use in the house. If 21+, no drinking within 8+ hours before driving our kids.
Hours + Compensation
• 20 hours/week, usually beginning after 3pm into evening (September – May)
• Free housing, utilities + parking
• Hourly rate paid weekly
