Convenient For
Graduate Students
Oak Square Brighton - 3 bedrooms available
We’re Alyssa (24) and Timothy (26) and we’re looking to fill three bedrooms in our apartment. We’re both law students entering our last year and are ideally looking for people in the same age range / other grad students. Our lease will renew 9/1... .
We live a bit north of Oak Square. The apartment covers two floors and they connect through a staircase in the second floor living room and the back stairwell. Either floor largely functions as its own unit with its own bathroom, kitchen, and common space.
Alyssa’s bedroom is on the second floor and Timothy’s bedroom will be on the third floor. We're currently on the second floor, but our landlord is grouping our unit and the unit above us into one single lease. The unit above hasn't been occupied for the past year, but the landlord will be doing cleaning and renovations next month. There are two bedrooms available on the second floor and one available on the third floor.

Rent * Total Rent: $4,980 * Large second-floor bedroom with attached wrap-around porch - $1,150 * Smaller second-floor bedroom - $920 * Third-floor bedroom - $970
Security Deposit / LMR * Our landlord is asking for $4,460 to cover the security deposit and last month's rent with the new lease/rent including the upstairs, separate from the portion we have already paid * Split between three people, this would be $1,487 each
Utilities * Water and electric included in rent * We would split internet, heat, and gas equally
Public Transit Bus Lines * We are a short walk from the 501, 64, and 57 bus lines (the 501 is usually the shortest commute if you’re trying to get into Boston - the walk to the stop and bus ride together is about 25 minutes to get to Backbay/Copley and 35 minutes to get all the way downtown) MBTA * Tragically, the nearest T stop is the Warren St. stop is 1.2 miles away (~20 minutes walking) * Boston Landing commuter rail stop is also 1.2 miles away (~20 minutes walking)
Parking * No driveway, but there is street parking available right outside * No parking permit required * There’s no street cleaning on our street so you don’t have to ever worry about moving your vehicle
Washer/Dryer * There is an in-unit washer/dryer located on the second floor and a back porch connected to the second floor
Pets * We live with a 12yo cat named Della * She’s very social but unfortunately does not enjoy other cats/dogs, so we can’t welcome other animals * Declawed baddie
Landlord * His name is Michael and he lives on the first floor of the building * Has been very kind and prompt/responsive to any issues we've had over the past year, we haven't had any trouble with him at all
Non-Negotiables * No animals (so sorry, legends) * No smoking indoors * Gotta be down with the gays / LGBTQ-friendly !! * Please just be clean, kind, and considerate
