Our home is an updated, beautiful 3-story 1840s farmhouse situated on nearly 1.5 acres of park-like land, conveniently located on a private road just off the BC bus route to the Brookline Campus. We are within easy walking distance of Cleveland... Circle, and an MBTA bus stop is close to the bottom of our street. Our last tenants, a married couple with the husband a BC MBA student and a lawyer wife, were with us for over 3 years in the apartment. They chose to use an additional bedroom on the same floor, which is optional at extra cost, and turn the other bedroom into an office.. We are an older couple with our children long gone, who travel frequently. We offer rental credit for occasional household and handyman help at your option.
The apartment does not have a separate entrance. You would enter through our kitchen door and use a nearby rear staircase to the 3rd floor. Since we will see you frequently when we are in town, we are perhaps more concerned with the congeniality, maturity, and responsible behavior of our tenants than the typical landlord. This is as important to us as the rent. When we are out of town, you will be effectively acting as house sitters. As indicated, our house is pet-free and not appropriate for children. While we allow limited guests with notice, we would be uncomfortable with an active social life conducted in the house. Partying or loud music won't work. Prior tenants have understood this and behaved appropriately. During fine weather, our beautiful grounds will be accessible for you to enjoy
I am a retired Harvard Business School grad and career strategic advisor to C-suite executives. I enjoy engaging with BC MBA students about their coursework and job opportunities free of charge. My wife is a classically trained pianist with 2 Steinway baby grands in our living room, so if you are a pianist, we can make that available to you occasionally. Historically, married couples have worked best in our apartment.
